The shelter is open by appointment only to allow our dedicated staff to facilitate the optimal pet-matchmaking experience. Every approved adopter gets focused, one-on-one time to meet their potential new companion. No adoption appointments on Mondays.
The Adoption Process
Adopting a cat from SAVE is a simple three-step journey to finding your perfect feline companion.
Apply Online
Complete our online cat adoption application. This helps us understand your home, lifestyle, and what kind of cat will be the best fit for your family.
Meet Your Pet
Once approved, schedule a visit to meet your potential new feline friend. All household members must attend the meet-and-greet to ensure a great match for everyone.
Follow Up
After submitting your application, follow up by phone or email to check your application status and schedule your appointment.

🐱 The Working Cat Program
Have a barn, warehouse, stable, or outdoor building with a rodent problem? Our Working Cat Program places cats who prefer the outdoors and open spaces in environments where they can truly thrive.
Requirements for Working Cat Adoption:
- A safe outdoor or indoor building (barn, warehouse, stable, etc.)
- Commitment to providing daily food and fresh water
- Commitment to ongoing veterinary care
What We Provide:
- Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and disease-negative cats
- Placement of cats in pairs or small groups when possible
- A two-week acclimation enclosure setup guide (required for a successful transition)
